Working as a team is getting me through

Today was by far the most difficult day for all. We needed to attend seminars, shoot video and get interviews for the institute publication, not to mention have a great meal and play Wii games. Did I mention I have never seen All the President’s Men before?

Thanks to Laura and Jessica, I was able to get it all done and not feel overwhelmed. They are my video team members, and when I was stuck on phone interviews with people on the East coast and in Minnesota, they were busting their humps getting it done with the video.

I truly appreciate the collaborative nature of all of today’s activities. It is so infrequently that we are able to sit down with other teachers, let alone other publications’ teachers that today felt like a soft place to land, especially when there are things happening at home we have no control over. Today two people dies in a tornado in Northeastern Minn.

In the end what we are doing here is important work, and I am keeping this in the front of my mind every minute. After speaking with some of the industries top people with regard to ethics, being the best journalism educators we can be is tantamount to the continued credibility of the industry.

Sleep well,

PS: Go Lakers (even though I wanted KG to win)
