I really enjoyed hearing everyone's stories last night and can relate to many. It's exciting to see how much we have in common and encouraging to hear that we face similar struggles and share similar goals. Like many of you, I also teach English 9 along with journalism. I enjoy the enthusiasm my freshmen bring to high school and the opportunity to get to know their stories. Often my older editors forget to cover the freshmen and I'm able to share story ideas with them that help broaden that coverage.
Wasn't the welcome we received last night amazing? I've never felt so honored as a teacher! I really enjoyed hearing Diana and Milton's perspective on the importance of high school journalism.
Since this is my first Blog, I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm excited for today and look forward to getting to know each of you better.
