Hello from Phoenix! I have been looking forward to participating in this institute for months and the time has finally come. I teach in a career and technical education high school in the inner city and am looking forward to starting a journalism program at my school next year. We do not have a newspaper and very few resources to get started, but I am ready to take on the challenge! I hope to learn all about the programs/classes that you already teach and plan to take everything from this experience to build a solid foundation for our newspaper.
I can't wait to meet all of you and get this experience started. See you soon.
Thirty-four high school journalism educators from around the country traveled to Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in June 2010 for the ASNE Reynolds High School Journalism Institute. This blog carries their thoughts and information about the program.
The institute, one of five held around the country, is made possible by a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation administered by the American Society of News Editors.
